Decks & Scooters excels at personalized service and expert guidance for scooter selection with trial rides, but one negative review reveals it is not kid-friendly as a birthday party venue due to its small shared space, restrictive environment, and staff who discourage children from touching items.

- Trial ride area allows customers to test scooters before purchasing
- Wide selection of kids and adult scooter models with accessories
Things to Pay Attention To
- Very small showroom shared with knitting shop, not spacious for groups
- Staff reportedly unfriendly and discouraging toward young children
- Appointment-only model limits walk-in access for spontaneous visits

We just purchased a new scooter for my 6 year old son. Decks & Scooters were very knowledgeable and suggested some options for us to tests out. Luckily we decided to come to the store as my son could clearly use one of the options better than the others. They also set up the scooter and helped us change the wheels to LED ones on the spot. I have one very happy boy - especially with his new cool looking helmet. Would highly recommend this place if you're new to scooters or upgrading and want to test drive some options - they had a large range of kids and adult versions....I may consider one for myself in the near future and will definitely come back to these guys.

Making an appointment to visit the store sounded a bit restrictive at first. But upon arriving at the store, it made sense. The store was really small. It occupied half of a store that is shared by a knitting shop. But being the only customer for my time-slot, the owner, Wong, gave us his patient and undivided attention. He helped us carefully select the skate scooters that matched what we needed. He could explain the pros and cons of each one pretty well. There was also ample selections from a few brands and sizes to test out. So we could make a better decision, given that the better brands like Micro aren't cheap. He also carried a good assortment of colours that we in the store to choose from. Really good service. And the skate scooters we bought were good too.

Was researching kick scooters online for future commute use (home > school, school > home), and found Decks and Scooters. First thing would be the booking system - a note to future visitors/buyers as they currently are going by appointment only, do go via the website to book. Note that booking is in 30min slots as well, and they only open on weekends from 12pm. Mr. Wong was very accommodating as I ran late by a few minutes. He first asked me what my intended usage patterns would be like upon acquiring the scooter - this included comfort, stability and portability. He then suggested the Micro Sprite, Micro Speed+, and two Globber scooters (one foldable, one foldable into trolley mode). I went with the Micro Speed+ as the Micro Sprite felt unstable for my preferences, with the smaller deck, shorter wheelbase and lack of shock-absorbing wheels, despite it being lighter. I got my scooter together with a combination lock that was very lightweight and could just be left on my scooter as I commute, with a carry strap. While getting all these items, Mr. Wong also patiently went through the intricate details of the Speed+ scooter - how to use the folding mechanism, the tightening feature, and how to ensure the carry strap does not get caught while doing the folding. It was really helpful! Will test it out in the coming days in full force. Currently the fastest purchase I've made in confidence. Definitely recommended :)

Not a kids-friendly showroom. The people were not very welcoming so it was a very disappointing and waste of money and time to travel all the way down with kids. Very small and not what we expected for a showroom. It was a shared space with some knitting lady who was even not friendly and kept telling my kids not to touch anything. So horrible they should not even do this business for kids when they are not 1 bit kids friendly or patient. I was very offended and do not recommend parents with young kids to waste your time there. They do not even deserve 1 star. It's very misleading on the website showing like a professional showroom but was so small and no space to even stand around without toppling the scooters down. Very upset!!!
