While at Mandai Zoo we booked the Manatee Mania and the River Wonders Tour. Miguel was our guide for both these activities and he was a fabulous host. The Manatee Mania experience was by far the greatest and favourite of the 2 for our family. The back areas where we went to gwt ready to meet the manatees were clean and the staff was always asking us to be cautious and careful around the different spaces to make sure we were safe. They were friendly and helpful the entire time. The atmosphere was calm and it was very enjoyable. There was plenty of food to feed the animals and an experience I would recommend all to do. The River Wonders Tour was a great way for the kids to get local information about the zoos inhabitants and Miguel did a fantastic job answering our questions. He was thorough and detailed in his explainations and you can see his passion in preservation of the rainforests of Singapore including all its inhabitants, great and small. He has extensive knowledge of the native flora and fauna and provided a great experience for all of my kids 3 aged 13, 10 and 7 years old. He did well in catering the language and jargon for all levels. The kids enjoyed your talk immensely! Thank you Miguel!

River Wonders is a fantastic attraction for both kids and adults! It offers a unique mix of fun, education, and wildlife encounters that you don’t often find in one place. I was amazed to see fish species I had never seen before, such as the Elephant Fish from Africa. The aquarium sections are beautifully designed and really allow you to get up close with creatures from all around the world’s rivers. Of course, one of the highlights is seeing the giant pandas munching on bamboo—definitely a must-see moment for visitors. We also attended the “Once Upon a River” show, which featured a capybara, pelican, and other animals. The show is family-friendly, short but entertaining, and gives you an opportunity to learn about different river animals. Just make sure to reserve your slot at least 2 hours in advance (it’s free), as spaces fill up quickly. Another highlight was the Amazon River Quest ride, which is probably the most exciting activity here. It’s a gentle boat ride through different themed habitats, where you can spot animals such as jaguars, anteaters, and giant otters. Both kids and adults will love it! Be prepared, though—you may need to queue for 30–40 minutes, especially during peak hours, but it’s worth the wait. Overall, River Wonders is a great half-day or full-day excursion. It’s easy to reach by both taxi and public transport, and the park is stroller-friendly, making it convenient for families with young children. There are also plenty of shaded areas and places to rest, which is important in Singapore’s tropical climate. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys nature, animals, or just wants a fun and memorable outing in Singapore!

Our visit to River Wonders turned into quite an adventure! 🐒👟 While resting near the Mama Panda Kitchen, a wild monkey stole my little one’s crocs and toss one into the river! We thought it was gone forever. The staff kindly gave my little one a brand-new pair of flip-flops. A few days later, the park emailed us — they’d found the missing shoe! 🩴💦 Huge thanks to the amazing River Wonders team — Daisy, Diyaanah, Tara, and Mega — for their kindness and help throughout. You turned a small disaster into a wonderful memory. ❤️

Really lovely to go in the morning with good weather since it wasn't very crowded, mostly sheltered and it's a relatively short route so it's very suitable for people who don't have the stamina to spend an entire day an attraction. Took me about 2hours to complete the whole thing. The boat ride was nice and I liked that it's unlimited! But even though I went on it twice I missed out on seeing the anteaters (T_T) For the show, you have to register two hours in advance and it wasn't stated on the website or anywhere obvious, so we missed it, even though we were there right when it opened. A bit of a bummer...

Most of the animals here were repeated from the zoo. There were some small aquariums but I’ve definitely seen better water dwelling animals. …

Managed to view Jia Jia and Kai Kai during their feeding time. Rivers of the world keeper guilded trail was interesting. Overall a pleasant walk. There is a presentation: Once upon a River. Tickets are opened for booking 2 hours before each show. I was unsuccessful to book tickets even though I managed to enter the booking site 2 minutes after it opened. The staff told me that tickets would be snapped up within a minute. Senior membership pass holders would not be able to compete with agility to book a ticket for the presentation. Hope Mandai will have better measures to be more gracious to Seniors.
