Sonic Bowl @ Our Tampines Hub

Staffs were very friendly and polite though it was peak period (new year’s eve). They were very accommodating to our requests and questions as we were playing with young kids. Even gave our girl candies at the end, truly made it a memorable family bonding for us☺️

I brought my kids to sonic bowl @ OTH, one of the staff that actually assisted me was Qing Xiang. He is very helpful and even guided my kids on how to play bowling. Great job Sonic Bowl for having him as one of your staff! Will definitely come again

This is a detailed review for those who are actually looking for an amazing bowling alley. If you feel like this is too long at least just try reading a few advantages and disadvantages if not that then don't miss out the last part as I have included better replacements. Well I have seen better bowling places with better facilities in Chennai itself where bowling is 97% played only for relaxation, fun and to spend time but the place there looks as if it is for experts and it also has a specific shop only for bowling equipments inside. This is good, but then if this is the case everything should be proper. Let me first tell you the good side of the place good side: .Helpful staffs .good ambience with amazing lights .large area and good infrastructure and apart form bowling it also has darts and snooker .Proper seating and resting areas .Many lanes to manage the crowd .They provide free shoes and they have shoes for many different sizes and they have a lot so there will be no problem if 5 or more people have same shoe size and they come at the same time. Bad side: .Very bad bowling mechanism, after every single game the mechanism gets stuck and pins don't get replaced but the time is still running as if everything is scripted. We have to go call the staff again and again and by this time, timer runs out .Super oily balls .balls aren't kids friendly. Well I agree that this might be an expert training zone but it when we are paying there was literally a different price section for kids so this means they do allow kids and they also had like a sliding thing on which you can keep the ball and push, but the least weighing ball is like 7 kgs and that also slides away from the hand due to the super oily ball .The shoes have very high friction force and it's kind of disturbing when I bowl. .The place is not worth the amount you pay .two lanes were supposed to share one ball canon. They can just utilize the space and have one ball canon for each lane .The system looks very outdated. Usually when I got to a bowling alley I can just enter the names on my own to get it showed on the display screen on the top for the scores and there is a separate stall for that just near the lane, but here we were supposed to write just two letters from our name as the screen can't hold more than that and later it will get updated on to the screen. .Late mechanism. Even though I have already mentioned that the mechanisms weren't working properly sometime when they again kickstart it, it just takes a lot of time for it to replace the pins and stuff. From my side there are both good and bad sides for this place equally. at least if the balls weren't oily it would have been better, but if you have good arms to lift creased heavy weights or if you are an expert you can come to this place and enjoy a lot Replacements: .StarBowl at BIG FUN Heiwajima complex for updated system and mechanism .Superbowl Tampines for better balls .Kalland ball in leisure park kallang these replacements can just full fill other requirments which Sonic bowl could not full fill, but it doesn't mean these places are completely perfect as they might also have some disadvantages

Most terrible experience in Sonic bowl Tampines. Many lanes need to serving but believe their lighter house balls might not have problem, but do we bowler who play with our main balls who is heavier need to have few extra balls to push the first ball out rather than practicing in our main ball? First is my only 15 pounds ball Every throw need to put my finger and push the ball out cause it struck there( first photo, who have a danger no hand sign), when I approach the staff ( a fatter young boy ) , he even suggest me to pull it out . I told him I brought the 1.5hrs session, cannot be every throw need to do that right? Then he changed the lane for me when I request it. The 2nd lane the ball need a long time to come out and every throw I waited long long time, (first video), the same staff blame it to my ball being oily, I had used a cloth to wipe it nearly every throw, and I mention to him might be this mechanism to push the ball out not strong enough cause mine is 15 pounds ( which is normal for bowler to own), their lane will have no problem for house ball there which is 6-12 pounds . So this two issue wasted a lot of my time walking to the staff for assistance if it took too long, then finally changed to another lane, this time worst! Most balls do not come out, I need to ask the staff to bring it up, he still ask me “ you do not have spare ball ? ( thin curly hair young guy)” . It looks like my fault for the oil and no spare ball, rather then they maintain well their lane! I usually play 7 games in the 1.5hrs, but I only played 4 due to the delay of the ball struck and slow to come out. When the time ended, I have to explain and request the staff ( fatter guy) that 1.5hrs I usually play 6-7 games, this delay I only played 4! I asked for ONE game and was REJECTED! The fatter guy say he can give me “ few mins “, not one game! Please, that few mins only is a waiting time for one throw. Totally unacceptable. Rather then they automatically give me a game or two cause one game takes average 10-15 mins, I played 4 games only takes 1hr. I brought 1.5hrs , wasted 2-3 games but was rejected for a game. So reader, suggest you buy per game, rather than hour game which you might not even able to play one game in f you have a group of 4 .. fyi I am alone, if strive Per throw , 7-8 games can be played for 1.5hrs.

Went on a Sunday. 1) Staff don't properly group lanes of adult teams vs small children groups. I had small kids running across from both lanes. 2) I found most 10,11,12 pound balls very old, chipped and over oiled - doesn't look like staff wipes them ever. The finger holes are oily inside. 3) Some lanes don't even work - see photo, lane doesn't work and all strikes with limited play. 4) Their foosball and pool tables - they don't own it. I paid cash into the foosball machine and it didn't work and staff said they don't own and I have to call the number on the machine to complain/refund ! 5) Dart machines arranged perpendicular to one another -safety issue as one can throw dart at other waiting players - see pic. Avoid this place, please.
