This place houses the CPF and HDB branch offices, which really provides convenience to residents of the northern estate. It also has several f&b establishments and a fairly well stocked supermarket at the basement. The regional library is a must for book lovers. New additions: Daiso and Scarlett Supermart. Provides more choice. Good improvement.

The "upgraded" lifts are terrible, long waiting time and confusing ppl. The buttons to access lift level are located outside of the lift! What a brilliant idea! Not everyone notice about this especially those elderly, they not even know how to use it. During peak hour, when the lift level are crowded, many of them not realize that they need to pre-press the lift level before entering the lift, so when they are inside the lift, they are lost as they can't choose to access the lift level! I sincerely hope the management should experience it and review the lift system again.

Dear civic centre management, please do something about the quality and calibre of your security officers. One particular individual who refused to provide her name - an Indian lady with a rather plump build, shouted at visitors of the building from afar using the exact words - “get out”. If the security team is so obsessed with evacuating the building, kindly shut the front doors at the stipulated time. If not, why should patrons be shouted at for simply being present in the building? Please send your security officers for RETRAINING. Because that Indian lady is downright rude and that kind of response is uncalled for. It’s borderlinjng abusive behaviour with the kind of crude language that is being used. Or was she being racist? Because I noticed her shouting at Malay and Chinese individuals with jk regard for the Indian patrons in the area.

I think Woodlands Civic Center has the worst lift system in Singapore! It is so frustrating waiting for the lifts since they “upgraded” to this system. Users are not able to SEE which levels all lifts are at, thus cannot expect how long …
