The Paddock Bistro - Poolside & Outdoor Dining

Love eating in the open-air Paddock at the Polo Club! Feels like a million miles away from the rest of Singapore. Great service (from everyone, especially Nakul the manager/head bartender) and tasty food (love the pizzas, pad thai, satay, cauliflower fritters). Digging the new bar and the over-all atmosphere!

First time having dinner at the Paddock Bistro although we have breakfast and lunch here a lot. We sat on a table close to the poolside with views towards the pool and the polo field. (I’ve been told that if I bring a pet, that would be possible if I book the chukka table below so maybe next time I’ll try that.) My guest ordered chicken wings to start and some soda, followed by beef hor fun with gravy. He’s allergic to shrimp so it’s good to note that the base hor fun is vegetarian and then you’d order the beef on top of that, hence there’s no shrimp at all. There’s only shrimp if you order the seafood as an add on to the vegetarian base. My son ordered a spaghetti bolognaise with shrimp and bacon added on. He and I then ordered a plate of steak frites each. I was surprised he finished everything! I myself was quite hungry and polished off my steak frites with ease. None of us ordered dessert this time as we were stuffed but there was an interesting array of small cakes next to us. Of note I felt the service was excellent, in fact even more attentive than during breakfast and lunch service. Might make dinner at the club a more regular affair.

We came here to enjoy the scenary and see horses. The food was great and the staff are friendly. We had the club sandwich and Laksa and it tasted pretty decent. The club is open to public from Monday to Friday only, so do take note of that. Still a great place on my 3rd time here. Love the vibes and their updated menu. I had Jin Dan Sun and Yolo. Both were great.

We confirmed a reservation via Google/Chope with no indication anywhere that the restaurant is members-only on weekends and public holidays (apparently their "official" club website wrote this piece of information). When we arrived, we were spoken to rudely (felt as if we were at fault for not being part of "the club") and we were told our reservation “wasn’t in their system”. The supervisor shrugged and said there was “nothing they can do to improve the reservation system”. Only the younger staff were polite. Very disappointing service—non-members should be clearly warned before booking.

It’s the worst service ever. We ordered Mac and cheese for our girl and a dessert for our son. It took 20 mins for the Mac and cheese to come, after 1hr 15 mins of waiting, we asked why the dessert is so delayed. The manager came and told …

Really disappointing. I arrived for a late lunch, there were only 5 other customers, none of them eating. It still took 45 minutes for my salad to arrive. It was the only thing being prepared in the whole place. Small and uninteresting salad when it came, tiny juice drink. The staff were bored and uninterested in interacting or serving. Terrible.
