The Embun SG excels as a kids birthday party venue with spacious indoor/outdoor seating, attentive staff who sing birthday songs, and a relaxed resort-like ambience that keeps children comfortable. However, the premium pricing ($8-15+ per person), occasional food quality inconsistencies (overcooked grilled items), and lengthy wait times for live seafood dishes are significant drawbacks for budget-conscious families.

What Parents Love

  • Staff sings birthday songs and accommodates celebrations warmly
  • Spacious venue with indoor/outdoor seating and bean bags for kids
  • Fresh, delicious seafood with diverse menu options
  • Beautiful colonial-style ambience and Instagram-worthy decor
  • Attentive, friendly service staff throughout experience

Things to Pay Attention To

  • Very pricey at $8-15+ per person, total bills exceed budgets
  • Grilled seafood dishes frequently overcooked and tough textured
  • Long wait times for live seafood/bakar specialties (10-20+ mins)
  • Limited parking nearby; paid gantry system parking required
  • Inconsistent portion sizes and some dishes lack proper flavoring

Had a wonderful dining experience here. The food is delicious. Ambience is great as it is spacious and cooling. The staff coordinated with my family for birthday surprise. Everyone was nice and welcoming.

Our family held my father’s birthday cum retirement celebration last month (yes, I know—this is a throwback post haha! Been pretty busy lately). We decided to try out this new establishment and boy we were impressed! The ambiance was lovely—beautifully decorated and definitely Instagram-worthy! Food-wise, everything we had that night were decent or above average, with only one minor hiccup: the Sambal Ikan Pari Bakar was slightly too dry and tough, likely grilled a bit too long. But aside from that, standout dishes included the Grilled Garlic Butter Prawns, Fried Baby Squid, Siakap Stim Limau, Nasi Goreng Kampung, Char Kway Teow and Cereal Prawns, just to name a few. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Overall, we were very satisfied with our dinner. Service was commendable too. Despite the place being packed to the brim (both indoor and outdoor areas were full), the staff remained attentive and ensured our orders came out as quickly as possible. I can only imagine the pressure they were under, must’ve felt like working in a pressure cooker! Special shoutout to Rose and Zack for making the experience even more enjoyable. Kudos to The Embun SG, keep up the great work and stay consistent with the quality and service! P.S. I didn’t manage to snap photos of some dishes (like the Tom Yum soup) as they were placed too far down the table - we had three long tables joined together and some dishes were also ordered in sets of 2 or 3 servings, we definitely had more food than what the photos show 😜

Honestly when we looked at the reviews, the price, we were skeptical. Pricey? VERY. But only if you are paying alone for the whole family. Made a reservation of 9 pax (incl baby chair) for 18/10, Sat. A mini birthday celebration for my SIL. Booking etc was smooth and they even sent a reminder(automated). (Theres a penalty fee of $45 if you dont turn up). Before the day, my family discussed bout the menu & price, we set a budget of $350 (inclusive of the dessert). (You may refer to the pic). Plus we did our homework, the reviews mentioned to factor in the waiting time for the food to be served. The day, staff were welcoming. Brought us to the table (indoor, thank god cz it was scorching HOT outside even though its shaded), gave the menu and explained “we take orders for all except for the bakar specialties”. We proceed as per discussed. My brothers went outside to order their cockles (much love), stingray etc. I observed the ambience indoor, kinda feels like home, the kids were comfortable too. Maybe cz the staff made us feel that way. 🥰 Food was served about 10-15 mins after we ordered. (Not bad after all aye) Taste? FANTASTIC for ALL. Each of the food we ordered. We even reordered afew (esp nasi goreng kampung) 🤭 Definitely over our budget. The bakar specialties.. *chef’s kiss* Just wanna say thanks to ALL the staff for making us feel comfortable and the effort to sing birthday song to the birthday babies. We enjoyed every second of it. The kids were running around outside the entrance and enjoyed the bean bag. Total spent: $448 (inclusive of gst) NOTE: this is from me & my family pov/experiences. Others may have different experience. BUT ALL I CAN SAY IS… NEVER TRY NEVER KNOW🤗

Coz of our large party size of 18pax, the restaurant requested a holding cost of $90. We reserved earlier timing so that we dun miss out on the seafood/fish which we wanted them to grill. The grilled stingray takes quite some time to arrive. Slightly undercooked and some parts quite tough to bite though. The sambal is ok for our tastebud. 2 stingray (4pcs) = $166+ & cockles = $24+ We ordered the other cooked food and these seems to arrive quite fast. Most of the food are non spicy although it may looks spicy. 😅 Parking wise best to come about 6pm to get more parking slots during weekends. Otherwise u will need to look for carpark slightly further to walk from the restaurant. Cost wise..it seems quite a stretch though. About $8++ for 18 of us. They only have service charge and no GST. Nice ambience to enjoy the food. But it wont be 'anytime too soon' for us to come back again given the cost 🤭

Nicely deco Halah seafood restaurants with all the offerings from a usual Chinese restaurant. This venue replaces an old Chinese restaurant previously at this venue. Decent food at Embun, sambal stingray was overcooked so fish came rubbery in texture and since we ordered 2 BOTH were overcooked. Fresh steam and cheese oysters fish were awesome. Satay served with a mini portion of peanut sauce which is usually used for chill sauce which came across as really stingy. Reply was restaurant did not have proper crockery for peanut sauce?! Otherwise environment was nicely done up very lepak chill vibes if you willing to splurge
