If you’re serious about dinosaurs, this one is a must. I can’t praise this exhibition enough. When I heard that Dinosaurs of Patagonia was finally coming to Singapore, I was ecstatic. This isn’t just another dinosaur display — it’s a showcase of some of the largest creatures ever to walk the Earth. And as if that wasn’t enough, the Science Centre has paired it with The Six Extinctions, a deep-time journey through the rise and fall of life on our planet. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝘅 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 This section beautifully sets the stage. You’ll walk from the Cambrian seas to the Ice Age, meeting both life-sized models and skeletal reconstructions of the creatures that shaped Earth’s history. Highlights include: • Endoceras – a giant, alien-looking cephalopod • Dunkleosteus – the armoured fish with jaws like steel plates • Tiktaalik – the famous transition fossil between fish and land animals • Synapsids – our distant mammal-like ancestors • Herrerasaurus – an early dinosaur linking perfectly to Patagonia • Smilodon and Mammoth – Ice Age icons closing the story Each era is backed by gorgeous murals that bring the fossils to life and give a sense of the world they once ruled. 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮 – 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 Patagonia today straddles Argentina and Chile, but during the age of dinosaurs it was home to some of the most extraordinary species ever discovered. Two main groups dominate: sauropods and theropods. 𝗦𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗱𝘀 – 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 • Brachytrachelopan – a short-necked sauropod that breaks the mould • Amargasaurus – instantly recognisable by its twin neck spines, likely covered by a sail of skin according to Cerda et al. • Patagotitan – the undisputed star; one of the biggest animals to have ever lived, rivalling Argentinosaurus for the title of “largest dinosaur” 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗱𝘀 – 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗱𝘀: • Eoabelisaurus – one of the earliest known members of the group • Carnotaurus – the poster child of the group, with absurdly tiny, nearly useless arms even punier than T rex's 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗱𝘀: • Tyrannotitan – a massive predator • Giganotosaurus – a reconstructed skull of a meat eater possibly larger than even T rex 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 No dinosaur exhibition feels complete without Tyrannosaurus rex, and here you’ll find a faithful replica of RSM P2523.8 — “Scotty.” This cast captures with high precision all the features of this specimen the true dinosaur enthusiast will want to see, such as evidence of jaw disease (trichomoniasis) in the mandible, and various injuries along the axial skeleton. This is a true animal that lived life. Also present is Torosaurus — a nice addition, though a full Triceratops would have made a better counterpoint to T rex. ________________________________________ 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘀 Beyond the fossils, the Science Centre team has clearly thought about making the exhibit accessible and engaging. There are interactive displays, children’s zones, and plenty of photo ops — all while keeping the educational content strong. I must commend the staff and volunteers of the Singapore Science Centre for making this exhibition a reality. They deserve applause for pulling this off. Setting up must have taken plenty of work, and they were friendly and helpful despite the workload. This is a world-class exhibit with precious material, and this exhibition is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for dinosaur fans in Singapore. And if you’re crazy about dinosaurs, particular the Patagonian representatives, then I suggest coming on a weekday, and starting in the morning. You’ll avoid the weekend crowds, and there is too much to see here for just a mere 2 hours.

I recently visited the dinosaur exhibition (Dinosaurs, Extinctions, Us) at the Science Centre Singapore, and I must say it was a thoroughly impressive experience. The displays are spectacular, characterised by meticulous attention to detail and exhibits of a substantial scale. It is certainly a worthwhile visit for any dinosaur enthusiast; my children were captivated throughout and left feeling genuinely inspired. The exhibition is also highly interactive. There were numerous activities that engaged both myself and my children, striking a fine balance between education and entertainment. Furthermore, the narrative structure was excellent. It guides visitors through a coherent journey, spanning the extinction of the species, the processes of discovery through archaeology, and concluding with a thoughtful message on conservation. RECOMMENDED!

The Science Centre Singapore is truly a great-value, clean, spacious place that’s perfect for families with young children. Instead of taking your kids to crowded indoor playgrounds in shopping malls, this is where they can touch, play, explore, and learn in the most fun and natural way. The space is airy and well-organised, with plenty of interactive zones like light, water, robotics, nature and more. Children can freely run around while parents feel completely at ease because everything is designed to be educational and safe. This is definitely a spot I will keep coming back to whenever I visit Singapore, because every visit feels like a new experience for both kids and adults. Highly recommended for families travelling with little ones!

Enthusiastic volunteer who explained to us about the exhibits. Was disappointed to find that so few real fossils were featured. Dino sand pit - Dig Play totally not fun and not worth $5. We took 1.5hours to finish the exhibit. Came on a Monday so it is not super crowded. Will recommend if ticket is cheaper like $25.

Came for the Dinosaur Exhibit but were slightly underwhelmed by the number of fossil exhibits. We expected a somewhat more memorable experience for the ticket price but the number of displays were limited. We went on a weekend afternoon and the exhibit was quiet, allowing you to take your own time to enjoy yourself.

Kids had fun in general with fire tornado and also the 430pm show at the atrium but honestly, it was very disappointing with A LOT of broken exhibits that weren't working... About 20% weren't working. The maintenance is that poor. The climate show was completely soundless so we queued for nothing. And a lot of the heating coils in the earthquake zone was spoilt. The humanoid robot was not doing anything cos the mic to give it instructions wasn't working. And frankly, the 430pm show at the atrium had so much opportunity to teach science but they ended up turning it into some electric show without much proper explanation.... It's terrible for a science center to be honest. The animal exhibit looks really sad. If you cannot maintain the health of the animals, please don't exhibit.... Just do something else....
